In honor of Black History Month Northampton County 4-H will be highlighting individuals to showcase their contributions to their community. Today we would love for you to meet Pauline Deloatch. Mrs. Deloatch is a a valued volunteer and truly a local trailblazer. Pauline began her career as a teacher at Gaston Middle School and was elected in 1988 as the First African American Register of Deeds in Northampton County where she served until 2014.

She graduated from Halifax Tech and Saint Paul College with a degree in Business Education. Upon her retirement she began volunteering with the youth of Northampton County 4-H teaching crocheting, etiquette,  and helping with many other summer programing. It is her belief that 4-H has kept her vibrant and energized, and hopes to help keep youth involved in their community and helping youth learn all they can from 4-H. Along with all her contributions to Northampton County she also serves on Northampton Home and Community Care Advisory Board ( HCCBG) and the Lay Health Advisory (LHA) through the Roanoke Vally Breast Cancer Collision. Thank you Pauline Deloatch for blazing the trail so others may follow.
