Cooking Under Pressure

Did you get a new Electric Pressure Cooker during the holidays and it is still sitting in the box? Pressure cookers have transitioned from one of the most feared kitchen appliances to the new “it appliance!”

Electric pressure cookers are a little scarier because you are creating pressure and high temperatures, but understanding the advantages to pressure cooking just might ease your fears. They decrease cooking time, reduce energy consumption, and retain the nutrient quality that is equal to or higher than that of foods cooked by other methods.

If you want to learn more about electric pressure cooking, join the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Northampton County Center for Cooking Under Pressure on Thursday, January 28, 2021, from noon–1 p.m.  This is a free, online program.
