Celebrate Earth Day with this Project Learning Tree K-12 workshop! This workshop will focus on the PLT K-8 Activity Guide and the Secondary Module, Places We Live.

Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an interdisciplinary environmental education program designed for educators of ANY background. The hands-on activities facilitate the exploration of topics including communication, economics, energy and fuels, geology, government, history, recycling, transportation, watersheds, wildlife, and much more! Participants will learn about the materials through direct engagement in the PLT activities throughout the workshop.

Differentiated instruction? Technology connections? Literature links? STEM? The PLT activity guide covers it all!!! The PreK-8 guide is correlated to the Common Core (math and ELA) as well as to the NC Essential Standards (science and social studies). CEU renewal credits are available. This workshop qualifies for Criteria I in the EE Certification Program. Registered Foresters can earn 3.0 CFEs in Criteria I and 3.0 CFEs in Criteria II by participating in this workshop.

This workshop is provided at no charge. Please bring a a bag lunch and dress for the weather conditions. Pre-registration is required. Please make a personal commitment to attend to ensure there are enough materials and space for everyone. If you must cancel, please do so in a timely manner so someone else may take your place in the workshop.
