Northeast District 4-H Teen Retreat 2015

— Written By Caroline Brown

On March 13-15, 2015 the Northeast District of North Carolina 4-H held their 4-H Teen Retreat in Beaufort County. With over 220 youth and adults in attendance, it was the largest Teen Retreat in the history of the district, or the state’s other four districts. Leading the event was the district’s President, Grace Swain, the Vice President, Danny Wallace, the Secretary/Treasurer, Luke LaHay, and the Reporter, Joey Moore. Northampton County 4-H sent 15 youth to the event, thanks to sponsorship from Northampton County Farm Bureau.

The event was held at the Washington Civic Center, the Beaufort County Community College, and the Washington Yacht Club. Youth who participated learned about mental health, leadership, parliamentary procedure, and college preparedness. They also created care packages to send to families with deployed military personnel through 4-H Operation Military Kids.
