4-H Achievement Night Red Ball 2014
Northampton County 4-H celebrated the events and activities from 2013 on February 20, 2014 with a Red Ball. Volunteers, donors, and 4-H members wore red and/or 4-H green at the banquet designed to celebrate their accomplishments from the previous year.
The 2013 4-H Volunteers gave over 1,300 hours of time to the program! This included school teachers who utilized 4-H curriculum, summer fun instructors, 4-H Club leaders, workshop presenters, Advisory Committee members, and more. These adults are invaluable to the program.
Many different “friends of 4-H”, or financial supporters, were also recognized. Last year, over $12,000.00 was donated to the program from individuals and businesses in the community. Their support was crucial to the success of 4-H!
The 4-H members were recognized for their participation in a variety of 4-H events, from the Livestock Show and Sale to Photography camp. These young people ages 5-18 participated in 4-H throughout the year.
Michael Chaney, the current State 4-H Council Vice President, attended the banquet from his home in Person County. He shared his passion for 4-H and motivated the audience to become even more involved to discover the multiple opportunities available through 4-H.
The evening was made possible by talented and dedicated 4-H volunteers and was supported by: Reser’s Fine Foods, Flowers by Wayne, Food Lion (Ames Plaza and 10th Street), Papa John’s Pizza, Applebee’s, Cracker Barrel, and Belk.
