— Written By NC Cooperative Extension

Northampton County 4-H Volunteers April Pulliam and Michele Spruill attended the annual 4-H Volunteer Leaders’ Conference in Durham, NC in February 2012.  Ann Lawrence and Caroline Brown, 4-H Program Associate and 4-H Agent from Northampton County, also attended the event.  On Friday, volunteers chose workshops on topics such as dying fabrics with plant dyes, vermicomposting, sewing, and couponing.  A session on gardening and a large science fair were offered that evening.  On Saturday, the volunteers learned a lot in a variety of workshops!  Topics ranged from leadership development to cyber-bullying to livestock to motivating people, among many more.  The group had a great time at the conference and looks forward to returning next year!
